As soon as the basket lifted, the valleys went quiet and everything looked tiny. Floating over the fairy chimneys around Göreme at sunrise felt kind of unreal. The pilot was calm and clear, made it feel safe. After landing they did a small celebration, nothing cheesy, just nice. It all started on time, just dress warm because it’s cold.

The thing that surprised me most was the silence, and then suddenly dozens of balloons lifting up. Göreme and the fairy chimneys look totally different from above, like a movie scene.
